Frozen(ish) Strawberry Margarita

Disclaimer: this photo was not taken today… It was taken at a more appropriate drinking day/hour… aka Friday afternoon! 🙂

Do you have the Monday blues?  I had the Monday blues.  I left my work keys at home but didn’t realize it until I had made the entire commute, and budget-conscious humans like myself resented burning the extra gas the whoooole way.  Then the internet was down, so there was nothing I could have been doing anyway.   Let’s add the detail that this all transpired between 6:00 a.m. and 6:30 a.m.

Anyway, after a much better afternoon, I figured you all deserved a belated Happy-Friday post on a Monday, so you’ll have something extra to look forward to!

Frozen Strawberry Margaritas
Serves 2

Ingredients
12 strawberries
3 oz tequila
1.5 oz triple sec
Juice of 1 lime
3/4 cup ice
sugar to taste (I don’t use sugar to keep from drinking this rather strong cocktail too quickly.  Plus the strawberries add natural sugar)

Directions

Cut 10 of the 12 strawberries into small slices.  Save the other two.  Combine all ingredients except for the 2 saved strawberries in a blender and blend on high until you have a smooth consistency.  Split into two glasses (or one??) Cut a slit into the remaining two strawberries and garnish glasses with them.  Enjoy!
